Four people were injured, two of them seriously, following a crash in Mosta on Sunday evening, the police said.

The accident happened at 10pm in Fortizza Road.

It involved a VW Up driven by a 21-year-old woman of Naxxar and a Peugeot 108 driven by an American man, aged 66, who resides in Sliema. Two American women, aged 64 and 85, were in the Peugeot.

All four were taken to hospital, with the American driver and 85-year-old passenger suffering serious injuries.
