Two employees at the Corinthia Hotel in St George’s Bay ended up in hospital after pepper spray was sprayed in their face as a robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash on Sunday afternoon.

The two employees, two men aged 17 and 22, were treated for facial burns. The money was stolen from an office at the entrance to the hotel lido at about 5pm, the police said.

The two employees, in spite of their injuries, gave chase but to no avail as the robber escaped on a rented motorcycle.

The police are investigating.
