As a video emerged of a bus driver performing a dangerous manoeuvre on Maltese roads, Malta Public Transport states that there is "no excuse for the unsafe behaviour that is clearly evident in the video."

The video, posted by Bad Driving Malta on Youtube on 14 August, shows a bus going past a car waiting to emerge on the Hamrun-Santa Venera bypass, giving quite a scare to drivers who clearly had right of way.

The bus later switches lanes abruptly, barely turning on the indicator before performing the manoeuvre, giving yet another scare to drivers behind it.

This newsroom asked Malta Public Transport for its reaction to the video, and whether any action will be taken against the driver.

"Safety is our top priority. Our drivers undergo professional training and there is no excuse for the unsafe behaviour that is clearly evident in the video. We have already identified the driver and we will be taking immediate action."
