The government is willing to take action against producers of pastizzi but is not willing to pay back the amount of money it “stole” via energy bills which were higher than what they should have been, the Nationalist Party said in a statement.

It was referring to a statement issued by the Consumers Authority warning pastizzi producers not to agree on raising prices as this was against the competition law.

PN deputy leader David Agius said that the ON had received 1,000 energy bills which were higher than they were supposed to be. He urged the government to make up for this situation and give the money back to the consumers.

The PN is ready to take the matter to court, Agius said.
