A teenage cyclist suffered serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Birkirkara on Sunday evening, the police said.

The accident took place in Fleur-de-Lys Road at 8.30pm.

The 14-year-old was hit by a Mazda Demio being driven by a 66-year-old of Valletta.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
