The court has sentenced a 70-year-old man who admitted to having sexually abused two 15-year-old boys to three years in prison.
John Zammit, a Valletta resident employed at a pastizzi shop, also admitted to providing the boys with money or food in exchange for oral sex. The court that there had been three incidents with one minor and two with the other.
Zammit, who admitted to the charges during interrogation, was apprehended by police officers following an anonymous tip.
The court, which was presided over magistrate Audrey Demicoli, rejected a request for a suspended sentence from Legal aid Dustin Camilleri given his previously clean conduct.
