Floriana FC and coach Nicholas Chiesa have agreed to terminate their football relationship with immediate effect.

The Greens thanked Chiesa for his services to the club both as a player and as a coach. They said in a short statement that his loyalty and professionalism in both roles was unquestionable.

The Greens started the new season with two defeats – 2-0 against Hamrun Spartans and 1-0 against Sliema Wanderers.

Chiesa had won the FA Trophy as a player with Floriana. As a coach he led the club to a Super Cup win.

At present, the club is holding negotiations to engage a new coach and this should be announced in the next few days.
