Boy, 7, seriously injured as cars crash into police vehicle

A boy aged seven was seriously injured early this morning after two cars crashed and careened onto a police vehicle which was stationary on the road as officers were conducting roadchecks, the police said today.

The accident happened on Corradino Road, Paola, at 12.30am.

The boy was in a car driven by a 35-year-old woman of Gzira, which was involved in a crash with another car driven by a 24-year-old man of Fgura. The two cars ended up crashing into the police vehicle.

The boy was seriously injured in the impact, while the woman suffered slight injuries. The man was unhurt.
