Shooting: George Mifsud wins the Qormi Clay Shooting Trap competition

George Mifsud was the overall winner of the Qormi Clay Shooting Trap Competition that was organised at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.

Mifsud was accompanied on the podium by Stephen Vella and John Marmara, who finished in second and in third place respectively.

After two qualification rounds of 25 clay targets each, the six Finalists in the Bib number order were;

James Galea Jr. 45/50, Michael Grech 44/50, John Marmara 44/50, George Mifsud 42/50, Steve Azzopardi 41/50 and Stephen Vella 41/50.

A perfect straight of 25/25 was realized by James Galea Jr.

The official overall results were;

1st George Mifsud 18/25 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 8/10, total score 40/50

2nd Stephen Vella 17/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 3/5 + 6/10, total score 34/50

3rd John Marmara 18/25 + 2/5 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 27/40

4th Michael Grech 18/25 + 3/5 + 1/5, total score 22/35

5th Steve Azzopardi 15/25 + 4/5, total score 19/30

6th James Galea Jr. 10/25, total score 10/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualification rounds with the following scores;

Class A

1st James Galea Jr. 45/50

2nd George Mifsud 42/50

3rd Stephen Vella 41/50

Class B

1st Michael Grech 44/50 (Count Back Rule)

2nd Rudolph Zammit 44/50

3rd Bastjan Facciol 40/50

Class C

1st Steve Azzopardi 41/50

2nd George Grech 34/50

3rd Nico Sciberras 33/50

The MSSF Shotgun Trap Programme will continue on Sunday 02nd September 2018 at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges with the Cassar Cup.
