Zammit Dimech adds that this regulation is also in the best interest of Maltese SMEs to ensure that they are treated fairly in a transparent manner by online platforms and search engines. Platforms and search engines are crucial for small business to increase their visibility to consumers. Businesses such as hotels, traders selling online, app developers, and other similar companies rely on search engines for attracting internet traffic to their websites. Zammit Dimech said that his is meeting various stakeholders in Malta and Gozo along with international platforms and search engines.
