The University of the Third Age will soon be accepting applications from persons (60 years and over) interested in attending the 2018-2019 academic programme.
Lectures in the five Centres will be held as follows:
- Mondays to Thursdays from 9am - 11am at the Floriana U3A Centre, 3rd Floor, Catholic Institute, Floriana.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm - 7pm at the Sliema U3A Centre, St Patrick's School, St John Bosco Street, Sliema.
- Wednesdays from 9am - 11am at the Attard U3A Centre, Centru Parrokkjali, Triq il-Kbira, Attard.
- Thursdays from 9am - 11am at the Cottonera U3A Centre, Cottonera Resource Centre, San Dwardu Street, Birgu.
- Fridays from 9am - 11am at the Gozo U3A Centre, University Campus, Triq L-Imġarr, Ix-Xewkija.
Some of this year's lectures include:
Floriana U3A centre (programme starting on Monday, 15 October): Anthropological perspectives on Culture and Human diversity; The Science and Humanity of Geography; Kappelli u Knejjes Zgħar; Marine Biology; Sixties Music and Popular Culture; Criminology.
Sliema U3A Centre (programme starting on Tuesday, 16 October): An introduction to Ornithology; Revisiting Shakespeare; Geology: A journey to discover planet Earth.
Attard U3A Centre (programme starting on Wednesday, 17 October): Il-Maltin tal-lum u dawk tal-imgħoddi; Dante Alighieri - La Divina Commedia.
Cottonera U3A Centre (programme starting on Thursday, 18 October): Archaeological Heritage of the Maltese Islands; France in the Maltese collective memory.
Gozo U3A Centre (programme starting on Friday, 12 October): Understanding Paintings; Ġirja ħafifa mal-istorja ta' Għawdex.

Registration details are as follows: For Floriana, Sliema and Attard U3A Centres, one is to apply by contacting Joseph Said at Floriana U3A Centre, Ground Floor, Catholic Institute, Floriana from Monday, 24 September onwards between 9am and 12noon (Monday to Thursday).
For the Cottonera U3A Centre, one is to apply by contacting Daniel Pisani at Cottonera U3A Centre, Cottonera Resource Centre, San Dwardu Street, Birgu, from Monday, 24 September onwards between 9 and 11am (Monday to Thursday).
For the Gozo Centre, one is to apply by contacting Sylvana Pisani at the Office of Care for the Elderly (green door), Ground Floor, St Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo, from Monday, 17 September onwards between 9 and 11am (Monday to Thursday).
The membership annual fee, covering the period October to June 2019, is €12. Payments may be made by cash or by cheque addressed to The University of Malta. Any other queries can be made at the U3A Floriana Centre on +356 2124 3202 as from 24 September (9am to 12noon).
