MASTERS FOOTBALL MALTA had a good start for the new season 2018/19 with an interesting game between VALLETTA and the newly affiliated NAXXAR MASTERS. It was a balanced game with VALLETTA winning 10-8 to qualify for the first round of the J. SAMMUT PRE SEASON TOURNAMENT. They will now meet ZURRIEQ WOLVES.

Playing at Qormi ground, both teams went all out from the start. Naxxar were showing good coordination and at the beginning had a good lead of 3-0. However, Valleta were not let down and before going for the break managed to get level 4-4.       

In the second half the same pattern continued with both teams on the same level. Both showing good football. It was only in the last ten minutes that Naxxar made some banal mistakes in defence with VALETTA taking the opportunity, scoring three with no reply and qualify for the next round.
