An urgent appeal for help

Sunday, 9 September 2018, 08:57 Last update: about 7 years ago

Fr Joseph Camilleri who runs a hospital in Guatemala, is currently in Malta, and is appealing for help. When he moved to the parish of Jalpatagua in Guatemala in 1995 at the age of 61, Fr Joe set up a 100-bed hospital – the only such facility in a large area that has 24,000 people.

Fr Joseph is appealing for donations of medicine for poor people, especially child victims of the Fuego volcanic eruption that took place a few weeks ago. Also needed are volunteer doctors and nurses to help people that rarely see a doctor.

People can also help by sending a donation payable to Fr Joseph Camilleri, St Zachary Street, Xewkija XWK 2121, Gozo.

People seeking more information are kindly invited to contact Fr Joseph on 2155 1327; Malta-based helpers Martin Degiorgio on 9949 9805, or Natal Falzon on 9945 2726.
