A Finnish teen who swindled a Maltese online casino out tens of thousands of euros was given a 20-month suspended sentence, Finnish media report.

According to the report, the boy, aged 16 at the time of the offence, found that the casino software had allowed him to cancel customers' pending withdrawal requests, and instead have the money transferred to an online wallet rather than the customers' bank accounts.

He reportedly made 147 withdrawal requests in just one month, pocketing up to €250,000 before an employee discovered the ruse in July 2017.

The boy's father and mother received five-month and 60-day suspended sentences respectively.
