The reported police mishandling of activists is shocking. PD has said, while noting that none of the officers were trained to deal with such a situation.

Partit Demokratiku blames PA for NGOs having to resort to such protests, "as this independent entity has scandalously forgotten the true holistic priorities of our nation and Malta's true interests on numerous counts."

Partit Demokratiku had appealed for the Fuel Station Policy should be rewritten and a moratorium imposed.

"It took Minister Hererra till the 9th of April to forward ERA's recommendations to the Council of Planning Authority, and since then PA has dragged the process on for no

good reason, the PD said.

The parliamentary committee on Environment and Planning Development needs to approve the policy to kick-start its implementation and this has not as yet been addressed in its agenda, the PD added.
