The UHM Voice of the Workers has ordered individuals employed by contractors working on the Gozo ferries to refrain from cleaning toilets or berthing the vessels, whilst also not going down to the garage.

The directives are expected to come into force on Monday, and the motive is to press for an increase in pay for employees doing the same work as their colleagues but not receiving adequate remuneration.

Talks took place on Monday of last week with the Director of Employment Relations, but no deal was reached between all parties.
