A 41-year-old man was seriously injured on Monday after he fell off a truck in Siggiewi, the police said.

The accident took place in a quarry on Triq Bur ix-Xewk, at around 11am.

The man is from Senglea.

The man was assisted by officers from the Qormi police station, members of the Civil Protection Department and an ambulance crew.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
