Erjon Beu obtained a last gasp equaliser against Sirens in an entertaining match in which three players were sent off. For Lija this was the second consecutive 2-2 draw after the obtained against Naxxar, a game in which they were with a man down for a long period.
Lija took the lead on 20 minutes with a Luiz Soares header and received a boost fifteen minutes later when Sirens were reduced to ten men when Luke Galea was shown a straight red.
However Sirens did manage to score just before the break through Ige Adeshina, who before the match was presented with a token by the same Lija for his past service to the club.
On the resumption Morgon from the penalty spot put Sirens in front, and on 67 minutes Lija were also down to ten when Lee Joe Schembri was shown a second yellow.
Four minutes from time Sirens were reduced to nine players when Mattia Del Negor received a second yellow and three minutes later Lija saved the match when Erjon Beu shot home from close range the equaliser.

Naxxar had to settle for their second consecutive draw of thre season, even though dominating for long stretches against Qrendi. For Qrendi this was their first point of the season after their negative start against Santa Lucija were they lost 3-0.
Qrendi had a dream start taking the lead after only five minutes play when Silveira da Silva rounded off the goalkeeper before putting at the back of the net. Naxxar produced a great forcing to get the equaliser and wnet close with an Angus Buhagiar header finishing against the crossbar.
They also had a Meilak goal disallowed and a Mohamed Belhadj shot cleared off the goal line before obtaining a deserved equaliser through Jurgen Debono from the penalty spot.
Naxxar continued to attack even in the second half, but they just could not find a way past a packed Qrendi rearguard, with Saturday Nanapere almost getting a dramatic winner late in the game.
