Samantha and Godfrey met by chance at a nightclub one December night in 2009, but liked each other immediately. They decided to meet again the following day and started to get to know each other. After a couple of dates, they both knew that they were meant for each other. Six years later they bought their house and two years after that got married.

Their wedding day was July 8, 2017 and they got married in one of their favourite churches in Malta, St Paul’s Parish Church, Rabat. “We chose that church because it is incredibly beautiful and it was always our wish to get married there. We got married exactly a week after the Rabat village feast, so the church was all nicely decorated”, Samantha recalled. After the ceremony a reception was held at Castello Dei Baroni, the most beautiful castle at the top of Wardija hill. “The venue is surrounded by unobstructed views of the countryside and has a pool garden all-round the castle. As soon as we set foot in it we immediately fell in love with the place because it is very classy and elegant, so it was an obvious choice for us”, the couple explained.

Both the church and the reception venue were meticulously decorated with abundant fresh flowers by the talented team at Carabott Florists. All guests were stunned by the lovely floating hearts which were the highlight of the decorations accompanied by other lovely decorations from Commander Jay Events & Entertainment.

The music was another highlight at Samantha and Godfrey’s wedding. At the ceremony they had Ludwig Galea during Mass and Luca Xuereb Band at the reception, both artists from Tunin Entertainment with the latter being one of their exclusive bands. The band created a lovely atmosphere for the guests and the couple to enjoy the night.

The couple wanted to create a simple yet delicate atmosphere; they are not into very complicated things. And they managed to do so perfectly with the right ambience, great scrumptious food throughout the reception by Busy Bee, wonderful cocktails by Damian’s Cocktails, delicate decorations and stunning flowers. The invitations were designed and printed by Foilplus. They had swirls in pearl foil pressed and enhanced with coloured crystal. Foilplus provided an excellent service with a final product to the couple’s complete satisfaction.

The souvenirs, by Kudos, were elegant white rose candles to match the whole look for their wedding. It was a dream come true for the couple, everything went according to plan.

For Samantha, walking down the aisle to Godfrey in a very sophisticated mermaid, dress by Rosa Clara from Ivory & Co, was the most emotional moment; but seeing Godfrey in a really stunning suit, from Cefai Formal Wear, waiting for her was very reassuring, Samantha explained.

Looking back, the couple agreed that the most nerve-wracking moment was their first dance, where they danced to the romantic song, All of Me, by John Legend, “In fact, we mixed up a couple of steps but we’re still happy with how it turned out”, Samantha, remembered.

After such an incredible wedding, the couple went on a memorable 14-day cruise, organised by SMS Mondial on the Magical Norwegian Jade. They left from Germany and visited Norway, Iceland, Great Britain, and Scotland. “It was a holiday of a lifetime”, they recalled.
