A motorcyclist is in Mater Dei suffering with grievous injuries after losing control while driving along the coast road. 

The incident, which took place at 9:05 on Sunday, involved a 45-year-old resident of Bormla who was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle in the direction of St Julian's.

An ambulance arrived immediately on the scene and escorted the man to Mater Dei Hospital. 

Police investigations are underway.
