Shooting: George Mifsud wins the Franwin Trap Trophy

George Mifsud won the Franwin Trap Trophy at the Southern Shooting Club, an event that was organised on two qualification rounds of twenty five clay targets each plus finals.

John Marmara finished in second place while veteran Frank Scorfna finished in third place overall.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were;

Carmel Grech 42/50+1, John Marmara 42/50+0+1, Christopher Vella 42/50+0+0, Frank Scorfna 41/50+2, Joe Zammit 41/50+1 and George Mifsud 40/50.

 

The official overall results were:

1st George Mifsud 22/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 6/10, total score 41/50

2nd John Marmara 17/25 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 3/5 + 6/10, total score 36/50

3rd Frank Scorfna 17/25 + 4/5 + 2/5 + 2/5, total score 25/40

4th Carmel Grech 15/25 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 22/35

5th Joe Zammit 15/25 + 4/5, total score 19/30

6th Christopher Vella 12/25, total score 12/25

The top Shooters in their respective classes concluded this weekend's qualification rounds with the following scores;

 

Class A

1st Frank Scorfna 41/50

2nd Nicky Carabott 40/50 (Count Back Rule)

3rd George Mifsud 40/50

 

Class B

1st Christopher Vella 42/50 (Count Back Rule)

2nd Carmel Grech 42/50 (Count Back Rule)

3rd John Marmara 42/50

 

Class C

1st Joe Zammit 41/50

2nd Clayton Carabott 40/50

3rd George Grech 37/50

 

The MSSF Trap Programme will continue on Sunday 14 October 2018 at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges with the Lorchard Trophy.
