BEAT Limited CEO David Galea was recently a speaker at the 'Blockchain in Healthcare Symposium' held in Dubai. The event, which focused on latest trends and developments in Blockchain, hosted an international cross-section of protagonists in the industry, including Blockchain technologists and developers.

Galea's presentation, which was entitled 'Roadmap: Developing a White Paper (The Case for a Malta ICO)', focused on trends in the ICO (Initial Coin Offering) market, with a particular focus on ICO funding, which reached around $6 billion in 2018. In his delivery, BEAT's CEO explained the success factors for an ICO, naming as a key requirement a "compelling Whitepaper that makes a convincing case for investment". Galea went on to make Malta's case as a viable and effective jurisdiction in this sector.

Commenting on his participation in the Symposium and BEAT Limited's service offer in the Blockchain sector, David Galea said that "Blockchain is one of a number of disruptive technologies that BEAT will be targeting in the years to come.  We will be applying for accreditation as a VFA Agent entrusted with licensing issuers and VFA Service Providers in the Fintech industry.  Moreover, we plan to assist DLT platforms in setting up their operations in Malta through tax planning, incorporation, licensing and compliance monitoring.  We will also be supporting such platforms in seeking appropriate sources of finance through ICOs, Angel Finance, Venture Capital, National Funds, and the Horizon 2020 programme. Finally, we will be utilising our experience and expertise in helping organisations embrace this ground-breaking technology to generate a competitive advantage through their business model."
