Bormla Subbuteo Club finalist in Europa League

The Champions League and the Europa League were organised both last weekend.

The Champions league was held in Palma di Mallorca in Spain and there were 24 clubs participating.  On Saturday, in the group phase Valletta SC placed 2nd. Valletta Subbuteo Club, had a positive outcome on Sunday when they reached the quarter final. Unfortunately, they were stopped by the Italian team Reggio Emilia 3-1. Reggio Emilia was the winning team, winning against Napoli Fighters of Massimo Cremona 2-1. Angelo Borg with his team CCT Eagles Napoli made it to the semi-final, whilst Hansel Mallia with SC Fiamme Azzurre made it to the quarter final. Valletta Subbuteo Club were classified 7th in the final classification.

The Europa league was organised in Valle d'Aosta in Italy with the participation of 20 clubs. In the group phase, on Saturday Bormla SC came 2nd in the group whilst Valletta Lions TFC came 4th.  Bormla Subbuteo Club had an amazing result on Sunday by reaching the final. The final was played against Bologna Tigers and unfortunately lost 2-0. Valletta Lions TFC had a good result by reaching the 10th place in the final classification. The Maltese players Tristan Fenech and John Zammit were playing with their Greek team Pireus Lion and reached the 16th place in the classification. Jason Pisani with his Italian team Master Sanremo made it to the 3rd place.
