Nationalist Party EP candidate Peter Agius today challenged Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to declare whether he supports the idea that the party that wins the largest number of seats in the European Parliament nominates the President of the European Commission.
Agius said Muscat should say whether he is ready to accept the nomination of Manfred Weber if the European People’s Party obtains the largest number of seats in May’s elections.
Agius was speaking after Weber was declared as the EPP’s candidate for the role of European Commission President.
