Futsal: Swieqi United suffers first defeat against rampant Valletta

In this week's high profile match, reigning champions Valletta who are consolidating their optimum condition won 7-1 against Swieqi United who were unbeaten.

The Citizens had the opprtunity to score an early goal through Gia Nikvasvili, that paved way to a comfortable 5-0 advantage in the first half. Even though Swieqi United reacted quite well in the second half, it wasn't enoough to cease the Lillywhites from scoring two more goals. Valletta's score sheet included braces from Gia Nikvasvili and Mohammed Lamari, together with a goal apiece for Camilo Andres Gomez Vanegas Shawn Vella and Dylan Musu. Swieqi United refused to throw in the towel and scored the consolation goal by their captain Dusan Rakic.

Luxol secured their sole leadership when they won 9-2 against Pietà Hotspurs. Luxol's goals came from Emil Andrei Raducu's hat-trick, Celino Alves' brace and a goal apiece for Zvezdan Vukovic, Mark Zammit, Andy Mangion and George Frendo. Karl Sciortino and Maycon Victor scored for Pietà Hotspurs.
