Friday, 16 November 2018, 14:12 Last update: about 6 years ago

A building has collapsed in Mriehel this afternoon, luckily injuring no-one, the police said.

The building is in Triq l-Esportaturi, and it collapsed at around 1.40pm.

The roof caved in onto the second floor and brought the whole structure, which is apparently used as a warehouse.

Thirteen workers are believed to have been inside at the time, but all of them managed to leave the building unhurt. A head count ascertained that no one had been trapped under the rubble, which consisted of stones and items that were being stored for future sale.

Police are on site as well as members of the Civil Protection Department.
