A boy miraculously survived a 40ft plunge from a rooftop after his fall was broken - when he landed on his friend, Indian media report.

Swapnil Jagre climbed up a drainpipe to free a trapped kite when he slipped off and tumbled three storeys towards the ground.

But he was saved when he landed on top of one of his pals - and the pair escaped without any injuries.

The boys were flying a kite to celebrate Diwali in the town of Pusad in Maharashtra, India, on November 11, and the fall was caught on the CCTV of a nearby building.
