A woman riding pillion on a motorbike was seriously injured after the bike overturned in Zurrieq on Sunday afternoon, the police said.

The accident took place in Blue Grotto Avenue at 5pm.

The biker, a 50-year-old man of Fgura, was unhurt. The woman, a 49-year-old also of Fgura, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
