A man was seriously injured when he was approached and attacked by a group of men nin Hamrun early this morning, the police said.

The 55-year-old Birzebbuga resident was walking along National Road at 1am when he was attacked by the men.

The Birzebbuga resident was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Two of the men who are believed to have been involved in the attack were arrested by the police.

Magistrate Joe Mifsud is conducting an inquiry.
