Surplus not reaching everyone, but damage caused by government reaching all – Delia

Wednesday, 21 November 2018, 08:10 Last update: about 6 years ago

Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia said on Tuesday that the budget surplus the government boasts about is not reaching everyone, but the damage being caused by the government to Malta’s reputation is affecting one and all.

Addressing activists in Balzan, he referred to reports about tenders and direct orders being given for projects at St Vincent de Paul home and Mount Carmel Hospital. Minister Edward Scicluna either does not know about them and is not authorising them, or else is approving them. Scicluna has lost control of the ministry he is running, Delia said.

Foreign companies will shy away from setting up their business in Malta if they see the country being run haphazardly. Minister Konrad Mizzi is running away from answering questions and is not inviting the media for his activities, choosing only the media that support him. Mizzi is not giving an account of his behaviour, Delia said.

Neither is Joseph Muscat, Delia added, mentioning the handing over of three hospitals to a private company, on which the PN has filed a court case.
