A fleet of 15 boats has registered for the BOV Gozo Regatta, organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club, being held between the 23rd and the 25th November 2018. For the first time ever, the race will see the participation of foreign boats, who have remained in Malta since the Middle Sea Race specifically for this race as well as Sports Boats, the fast and agile 20 foot boats.

The crews will race up from the Grand Harbour to Gozo on the Friday, with a number of coastal races in Gozo on Saturday and a race back to Malta on Sunday.

The boat skippers met for the customary race briefing and were addressed by RMYC Commodore Godwin Zammit, race director Peter Dimech and Stefan Abela from BOV's PR & Marketing Dept.

'The BOV Gozo Regatta is always welcome among the sailing community, being the first race following the grueling Middle Sea Race' said the RMYC Commodore. 'We are delighted to have a new class, the sports boats participating in this race, and also to see foreign boats choosing to stay in Malta to enjoy the island and its seas.'

'The BOV Gozo Regatta has become a firm fixture in BOV's strong commitment towards the local sports scene' said Stefan Abela. 'We are pleased to see a closely knit sailing community, competing in a friendly but competitive environment and take this opportunity to wish the best sailing conditions for the race.'
