Led by blind spinmeisters

Sunday, 25 November 2018, 08:14 Last update: about 6 years ago

I refer to Noel Grima's article entitled "Led by blind spinmeisters" (TMIS, 18 November) in which the following was stated: "All we could find were stories and then more stories about 17 Black. By the end of the week we were no nearer the truth than we were at the beginning. And we could also find stories, and then even more stories, including interviews and appearances to persuade us that Adrian Delia is still alive, as a political leader that is, and that all this media blitz was no 'dead cat bounce'. The spinmeisters would have us believe that these two issues are the real issues of the Maltese population in November 2018. Whether Delia is a real leader will be decided by the people come May, although the latest poll saw him sinking fast..." I ask Noel Grima to investigate whether one would be correct in saying that well-known Nationalist Party activists are doing the rounds in certain electoral districts, asking prospective voters not to vote Nationalist come the 25 May, 2019 Local Councils and European Parliament elections.

This would then provide a certain faction with the opportunity to claim that the result obtained by the Nationalist Party in 2019 was worse than that obtained by this same party in the 3 June, 2017 General Election.

This is only an unethical, obscene plan whose sole aim is to destabilize the present party leadership and, it seemed to me, that Noel Grima is going along with this treacherous situation.
