A man was seriously injured this morning after falling one storey on a construction site, the police said.

The accident took place in Tower Street, Zurrieq, at 8.30pm.

The worker, an Italian man who resides in Marsascala, was unloading some items from a van when he fell.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called for assistance and the man was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
