11-year-old boy grievously injured after being hit by car in Pembroke

An 11-year-old boy was grievously injured on Wednesday afternoon after he was hit by a car in Pembroke.

The accident took place at 4 pm on Triq Profs Walter Ganado, the police said.

The boy was hit by a Peugeot 308 that was being driven by a 64-year-old man from Gzira.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Doctors later certified his injuries as grievous.

Magistrate Doreen Clark is leading an inquiry. The police are also investigating.
