Drivers urged to stay clear of gaping hole in the ground in Santa Venera tunnels

Wednesday, 5 December 2018, 20:39 Last update: about 7 months ago

Drivers are being urged to exercise caution when driving northbound through the Santa Venera tunnels because of what seems to be a collapsed water drain.

Photos of the gaping hole, which is situated on the outer lane, right next to the pavement at the exit of the tunnel (northbound lane/direction towards university), have been posted by drivers on the social media.

The hole seems to be at least half a metre in depth.

Markings have been spray painted around it, possibly indicating that it will be repaired.

Naturally, a little satire did not go amiss, with someone editing a ninja turtle in the hole, as if a scene from the popular 90s TV show.
