The narrative format model in intercultural education

Due to the popularity of their last CPD event related to identifying delayed bilingual development in Maltese children, the Association of Speech-Language Pathologists will be starting off the Continuous Professional Development events for 2019 with a similar topic and are proud to host Dr Sabine Pirchio from Sapienza University of Rome.  Dr Pirchio will be presenting her latest research findings which focuses on the increasing multicultural character of European society and the growing presence of children from immigrant families in European schools, which represents a key issue in understanding the development of positive social behaviour and inter-group relations in the education context and the role of language-learning in this process. The theoretical and practical implications of the study in relation to the improvement of linguistic achievement and the promotion of positive social climates in multi-ethnic educational contexts will be discussed. This talk is targeted for speech-language pathologists, psychologists, linguists, teachers, LSEs and other professionals in the education and linguistic sectors.

The event will be held on Wednesday, 9 January at 6.45pm at Hilltop Gardens, Naxxar and is supported by Busy Brain. Booking is required on email: [email protected] or by phoning on 7942 7660.
