We must be ready to protect European freedom of movement for the gaming industry says Peter Agius, PN MEP candidate.
In a video comment from Gzira front after visiting a gaming company, MEP candidate Peter Agius speaks about the need to protect the gaming industry with a solid representation in Europe.
"We built the gaming industry on reputation, attracting more than 260 companies to Malta employing over 8,000 people. We must protect this industry by protecting the Maltese reputation,’’ Agius says.
Agius was in charge of Gaming as part of his duties as negotiator in the Council of Ministers in Brussels from 2008 to 2012.
"We must also be vigilant in seeing to a real freedom of movement in Europe. Developments over the last years in the continent indicate restrictions to this freedom. We must be ready to protect free movement with legal and political means.
"This is what we signed up to with European accession, and this should be a two way process where European companies are free to invest and tap into our market while Malta established companies are free an unencumbered to tap into the European markets," he concludes.
