Former Nationalist MP Lino Gauci Borda passed away this morning, the PN said in a statement. He was 82 years old.

Gauci Borda was born in Sliema but spent most of his life in Fleur-de-Lys, a locality which inspired his publication “Tentuf mill-memorji”.

He was a member of parliament between 1976 and 1994, and served on Malta’s parliamentary committee for the Commonwealth. He was also president of the Old Motors Club Malta for 16 years.

He was married to Louise Ann Gauci Borda and they had a daughter.

The PN expressed its condolences to the Gauci Borda family.

The Labour Party also expressed its sorrow, saying that Gauci Borda served his community as a politician and as a doctor.
