The biggest theatrical company in the world, Cirque du Soleil, will be performing in Malta over the next three years. The company will present live shows at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, spread on six weeks a year.
The shows are part of celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the opening of the Mediterranean Conference Centre.
Cirque de Soleil established itself with a new style in circus arts with great spectacles of entertainment. It was set up in Canada and employs some 4,000 persons, 1,300 of them artists. Productions by Cirque du Soleil were performed in 60 countries, with 180 million people watching the shows during a period of 35 years.
