Maltese MEP Alfred Sant expressed his support for the agricultural activity of a family from Dingli who have been working their fields in their village to produce genuine agricultural products.

Sant visited ‘Diar il-Bniet’, a family owned restaurant specialising in traditional cuisine in Dingli, which  also produces Maltese goat cheese, honey, syrups among other products and offers guided sheep farms tours and vineyard tours.

“This initiative shoud be encouraged in other agricultural areas in Malta and Gozo to prevent the further decay of Maltese agriculture since Malta joined the EU,” remarked the Maltese MEP.

Darren Mifsud, director, told Dr Sant that ‘Diar il-Bniet prides itself on its use of home-grown produce, freshly picked from the family-run farm in Dingli. Their estate consists of over 600 acres of land covered in rich, dark, soil which is ploughed and cultivated. This soil is home to a number of different fruits and vegetables which are grown according to the season

‘Diar il-Bniet’ employs 20 persons.
