The obligation of all Nationalist Party MPs is not only to pull the same rope as the leader, but also be seen to be doing so, MP Hermann Schiavone said.

Speaking at the PN general council session on Tuesday, Schiavone appeared to make a clear reference to MPs who have expressed their dissent to and distanced themselves from the leadership since Adrian Delia was elected to lead the party.

Each MP should ask himself or herself whether he or she is doing what is expected to help the leader in his work, Schiavone said.

“If we want to win we must always be loyal to the leader,” he added.

While reiterating his loyalty to Delia, Schiavone said that he was always loyal to all party leaders even circumstances were difficult.

“I always respected the leader’s word even when it hurt me,” he said. “And this is what I expect from all MPs today.”
