Leaders Sliema Frank Salt dropped their first points of this campaign as they were held to a 6-6 draw against Sirens Greentube in a tight encounter. In reality, this result there's no shame for Sliema to finish in a draw against Sirens as they enough quality to beat anyone like they did in recent years. Sirens also won their games before this encounter but played a game less.
The lead switched between both teams during the game. Sirens took a 2-1 lead in the second session after Zach Mizzi scored the opener for Sliema in the first session. Mizzi put Sliema again in front after Michael Spiteri Staines had equalised from penalty.
After the restart, Sirens were motivated and scored three consecutive goals in what seemed to be the beginning of a win for them. But after they were still trailing by two goals in the last session, Spiteri Staines and ex-player Jacob Sciberras saved the day for Sergio Afric's team.
Neptunes are now one point behind Sliema after they continued the game against Valletta which was suspended a day earlier. Neptunes had already secured the win in the first session with a huge margin of 8-0. Four players scored a brace each.
Jovan Popovic's team continued controlling the game in the subsequent sessions, and it was only in the last session that Valletta reduced the arrears with four consecutive goals.
In the last game of the day, Exiles Elia Caterers registered their first win, defeating Birżebbuġa Freeport with a three-goal margin. The difference between both teams during the game was minimal, and as the game was evolving, it wasn't a surprise that the second session ended 3-3.
After the break, Exiles managed to take again the lead and controlled the game in the final session to clinch their first points of this campaign with a 7-4 win.
