A 70-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle (a Modenos) was grievously injured early this morning, after being hit by a car. The car continued to drive off.

The incident occurred at 4.40am on Zurrieq road, Birzebbugia. An ambulance was called and the man was taken to hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
