Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana has officially inaugurated the restored World War 2 air raid shelters at the Cittadella in Rabat.

The shelters were opened to the public following an extensive restoration project by the Wirt Ghawdex foundation.  

In collaboration with the Gozo Ministry, the foundation is carrying out a number of projects to restore and reopen important historical sites in Gozo.

This is the second project after the opening of the barrakka at the Cittadella and there are a number of projects scheduled for this year, Caruana said.
