A dense fog has enveloped parts of the north of Malta, photos and footage sent to The Malta Independent show.

Readers said visibility is reduced to a minimum and it is virtually impossible to see buildings across the bay at Salini, for example.

The same is happening at Pembroke, one caller said, with the fog fast approaching land from the sea.
