There was a surprise waiting for Health Minister Chris Fearne this morning when he attended an event at the Valletta local council offices.
Mayor Chris Micallef, who represents the Nationalist Party, prepared a birthday cake for his political opponent, who is today celebrating his 56th birthday.
Uploading a photo of their handshake, Micallef said that politics should not be a cause of division.
Minister Fearne seemed to enjoy the moment too, given the wide smile captured in the photograph.
