A magisterial inquiry has been launched after a prisoner was found dead in his cell, the Home Affairs Ministry said on Wednesday evening.
The inmate, 39, was found dead inside his cell at the Corradino Correctional Facility.
The police are also investigating the case while the prison authorities have launched an internal investigation, the statement said.
In December, another inmate was found dead in his cell after he had complained about feeling unwell.
