The Meteorological Office has issued a warning about strong winds that are hitting the islands.

The east-north-east wind will be strong in places, the Met Office said.

This will also cause rough seas on Malta’s eastern coast.

People are advised not to leave their cars parked beneath huge trees and to make sure their boats are sheltered.

The coming days are expected to be windy and rainy, with thundery showers forecast for Friday and Saturday.
