Thursday, 21 March 2019, 11:40 Last update: about 6 years ago

The Malta Stock Exchange Institute has been licensed as a Further Education Institution by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education.

This important achievement follows the Institute's first two years of operation during which it provided over 140 courses to almost 1,800 students.

The MSE Institute specialises in offering short courses on a range of subjects from Introduction to the Capital Markets, Compliance Monitoring and Reporting, and Company Law Fundamentals to more specialised courses on Portfolio Risk Management and Fundamentals of Financial Markets Risk Management, among many others.

Joseph Portelli, chairman of the Malta Stock Exchange, said: "Setting up the MSE Institute was an important part of the Capital Markets Strategic Development Plan since it created a platform from where to increase financial literacy among retail investors as well as training in specialised and topical subjects for many financial services practitioners. Receiving this license will provide us with the impetus to design and offer more accredited courses that will primarily be aimed at the financial services sector."

The Institute is licenced to offer the award in Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management which has been accredited to be MQF level 4.

The full range of short courses offered by the MSE Institute can be found on the Exchange website www.borzamalta.com.mt under the Events section.
