Wearing colourful socks is one way through which Down Syndrome Day is being commemorated today across the world.
And Malta is no exception.
On this day, people with Down syndrome and those who live and work with them throughout the world organize and participate in activities to raise public awareness and create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and wellbeing of people with Down syndrome.
The United Nations set 21 March as World Down Syndrome Day in 2012.
Parliament also commemorated the event with an activity led by Speaker Anglu Farrugia.
